As part of Penn’s Social Entrepreneurship Movement, I worked on a startup idea that aimed to promote giving and peer-to-peer support at Penn, an environment often filled with stress and negativity.

Our idea was to offer affordable and customizable care packages that friends can send to friends for any occasion.

As part of the Compass Fellows program, my teammate and I conducted research, created a landing page, pitched our idea to student entrepreneurs, and ran a pilot for our idea.

 The pilot consisted of 20 different packages; items inside included stress balls donated by CAPS, the counseling center at Penn, magnets, and food items. We timed the pilot to coincide with the holiday season, and hand-designed each package.  Throug

Through this experience, I encountered the challenge of refining a business idea in order to make it scalable.

Although the project took a pause for Spring 2018 (during which I studied abroad in Beijing, China), I hope to resume working on this idea in Fall 2018.
