In Fall 2018, I worked with classmates on creating a virtual reality film for a non-profit in South Philadelphia called SEAMAAC as part of my CIMS 210 course, Virtual Reality Lab.
The SoPhiE Food Truck program provided two refugee women (one from Indonesia, another from Burma) the opportunity to develop the skills to run a food business. Both aspired to open their own restaurants.
I examined the literature on how women refugees are able to support themselves through entrepreneurship, which is a core element of SoPhiE Food Truck. My findings are here.
